"All Together Now-Celebrate In Song! comes together on the 50th year celebration of the Philippine Madrigal Singers -- the world renowned choir which has spawned a multitude of classical and pop soloists, arrangers and conductors, many of whom have settled in Southern California.
Known as the "Madz" to its fans, the group has become and institution that, through its commissions and premieres, has helped propagate its legacy of choral excellence, and expand the choral repertoire in the Philippines, where choral singing remains a very popular activity.
On June 30th, 2013, we presented celebrated soloists from the ranks of the Madz, choirs mentored by Madz Alumni, and original choral works and arrangements by the like. The wide variety of musical styles stems from the Madz original programming that always included the following sections: Madrigals, Sacred, Folksongs and Pop.
This concert is part of the global celebration of the Philippine Madrigal Singers. Part of the proceeds were contributed to the medical needs of the Madz Founder, National Artist for Music Andrea O. Veneracion. Other proceeds were for the benefit of the University of the Philippine' Alumni Association of Greater Los Angeles Scholarship Fund.
This event is produced by Music Arts Events, a production company that helps artists present and brand their events, and Philippine Patrons of the Arts USA, a 501C-3 non-profit organization and long-time supporter of the Philippine Madrigal Singers. Special thanks to the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors for their continuing support of the John Anson Ford Theatres, a program of the Los Angeles County Arts Commission in a Los Angeles County Regional Park.
